Several Habits Was Conducive You To With Healthy Hair

Healthy hair is a reflection of your habits at home.Just like your skin, it’s important to take the extra steps to protect and treat your hair. We’ve compiled simple ways you can achieve beautiful, healthy hair that you can add to your daily routine.

1.Get regular haircuts
Most people have heard the universal rule that you should get regular haircuts, but the frequency really depends on the health of your hair. The time can range from 4-8 weeks depending on how often you color your hair or use hot tools.  Getting a regular trim and cutting off the split ends will allow the hair to continue to grow.

2.Sleep with a silk pillowcase
Tossing and turning throughout the night can cause your hair to tangle.A silk pillowcase will prevent the hair from matting as well as protect your hair from frizz. Not only is a silk pillowcase beneficial for your hair, it is also better for your skin and preventing wrinkles.

3.Deep condition once a week
With the use of hot tools and frequent coloring, your hair is consistently stripped of moisture. Deep conditioning once a week will rehydrate the hair as well as protect from breakage.

4.Skip hot tools
If you find yourself blow drying your hair and reaching for the curling or flat iron on a daily basis, then I’m talking to you. If at all possible, try and skip the hot tools at least once a week to give your hair a break.Plan for enough time to air dry your hair rather than blow dry, and you will slowly see improvement in the health of your hair.

5.Use a hair oil
Hair oil has become a phenomenon in the hair care industry over the past few years. The reasons you should add hair oil to your routine, include they strengthen the hair, prevent damage, and increase shine.

6.Brush hair properly
Brushing your hair properly, especially if you have hair extensions is extremely crucial.  You should always brush up from the ends upwards,to avoid pulling on the hair and causing damage or split ends.

7.Use a leave-in conditioner
If you’re looking to add even more moisture to your hair, apply a leave-in conditioner after you wash your hair. Add in a hair oil into the mix to create a “cocktail” of hair products that will leave your hair with incredible shine.

8.Skip shampoo
Washing your hair every day will leave your hair damaged and brittle. Depending on the texture of your hair, you can get away with washing your hair every other day or even every second day. That doesn’t mean you need to skip your daily showers all together.  You can always wet your hair and massage the scalp as normal, just without the shampoo!

9.Splurge on quality hair products
When it comes to our skin care, we seem to shell out any amount of money to achieve glowing, acne-free skin. However, this may be the reason we become frugal when it comes to hair care products. You don’t need to purchase all high-end products but just pay attention to the ingredients and purchase products that are beneficial for your hair type.

How to Reduce Hair Extension Shedding

It is generally true that your natural hair will shed approximately 100 strands a day, and because our hair extensions are made of natural hair, you can expect some shedding throughout its lifespan. Every time you brush or style your extensions there will be light shedding, so don’t be surprised or worried when this happens. This, however, does not mean to reduce the amount you brush your extensions. You can minimize shedding in other ways.

Washing your extensions too much will dry out the hair which may cause them to shed. The more products you use, the more you will need to wash your extensions, so the best way to reduce shedding is to use a minimal amount of products when styling your hair.

Your extensions have a beautiful, healthy finish already so you shouldn’t need much product to enjoy them. If you want more hold when curling your extensions, try pinning up the curls and leaving them overnight or even just for an hour to ensure the curls stay in place without the use of hairspray. If you do want to reach for hairspray, consider a lightweight formula which you can still easily brush through. Extra strength hairsprays will clog up your extensions, which means more washing.

8 Causes of Women Hair Loss

Female hair loss has become more of a taboo rather than an important topic of discussion.According to the American Hair Loss Association, forty percent of hair loss sufferers are women, yet women seem ashamed to talk about it.From hormones to high levels of stress, hair loss can be caused by various factors. If you’re wondering why your hair is falling out, here are eight common causes of female hair loss that may help you pinpoint the cause and tips on how to deal with them.
1.Over styling.
Frequently using hot tools or excessively coloring your hair will leave hair dry, brittle and prone to breakage.Putting your hair into a tight ponytail, braid or bun, over time will cause the hair follicles to break.
Solution:
Cut back on the hot tools and let your hair air dry. If you choose to use a hot tool, make sure to apply a heat protectant first. A heat protectant will create a barrier between the hot tool and natural hair, protecting the hair from damage.
2.Medications.
Certain medications, such as antidepressants, oral contraceptives,or antibiotics can be toxic to the hair follicles.
Solution:
Consult with your doctor if you are experiencing hair loss with your medication to see if there are other options.
3.Hereditary.
A common form of hair loss known as androgenetic alopecia can be inherited from either your mother’s or father’s side of the family. Hereditary hair loss causes the growth cycle to shorten, resulting in more hair falling out,and less hair being replaced.
Solution:
If hair loss runs in your family, watch for signs of thinning and consult your doctor for prevention or treatment options.
4.Hormonal changes or imbalances.
Starting a new birth control or even stopping the pill can affect a woman’s hair growth.
Solution:
The American Hair Loss Association suggests using a low androgen form of birth control,or a non-hormonal method if you are prone to hair loss.
5.Physical or emotional stress.
Drastic weight loss, death in the family,or losing a job can impact the hair follicles to the point where they are inactive and fall out.You may notice handfuls of hair coming out when brush or wash your hair.
Solution:
Certain stressful situations are impossible to avoid, but keep daily stressors to a minimum by participating in stress-relieving activities such as yoga or meditation.
6.Vitamin deficiency.
Iron, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D,are common vitamin deficiencies that may contribute to female hair loss.
Solution:Eat a well-balanced diet that contains essential vitamins or seek advice from a doctor regarding supplements.
7.Pregnancy.
Hair loss most commonly occurs after delivery, due to a drop in estrogen levels. However, most women will regain their hair after about nine to twelve months.
Solution:
Consult with your doctor to have your vitamin levels checked. Otherwise,if you are experiencing normal hair loss, experiment with a short haircut, which may also be more manageable for a new mom!
8.Aging.
It is not uncommon to see hair loss in women in their 50’s and 60’s.
Solution:
Hairpieces, scarves, or wigs can be used to cover thin spots if treatment is not an option.Take this as an opportunity to experiment with different color hair or hairstyles.

How to Take Care of Dry and Fine Hair

Hair that is both dry and fine calls for a delicate balance in your haircare regimen. Your locks need to be moisturized for manageability and shine without being weighed down with heavy products.Regardless of how you prefer to style your hair, dry ends and greasy roots are always counterproductive--and curls and sleek looks will not hold without the proper nourishment.A targeted daily routine and a weekly treatment will leave your hair looking shiny and full for the days to come.
Weekly Treatment
Brush your hair with a detangling brush, starting at the ends and working your way up to the root to avoid breakage.Coat your hair from root to tip with a deep conditioner.Opt for an intensive, natural-oil-based treatment. While you wouldn't normally be able to use a heavy conditioner on fine hair, this is possible pre-shampoo as it will be washed out.Cover your hair with a shower cap,and allow your hair to absorb the conditioner for at least 30 minutes.Leave the cap and conditioner on overnight if possible.Rinse hair completely with warm water.Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo, lathering at the nape of the neck with your fingertips, and working your way up to the scalp before rinsing completely. This will remove all oil from the scalp that could weigh hair down, while still retaining moisture from the conditioning treatment.
Daily Wash
Shampoo your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo, focusing on the root area.Rinse the shampoo from your hair with warm water.Condition hair with a regular conditioner formulated for dry hair, focusing on mid length through to the ends.Allow the conditioner to sit for three to five minutes before rinsing thoroughly;this will lock in all moisture without providing a heavy coating.Gently squeeze the ends of your hair dry with a towel.Apply a light leave-in conditioner to the ends of your hair, and comb it through with a wide-tooth comb to detangle and disperse all product evenly.Opt for a spray-on,leave-in conditioner or a dime-sized amount of cream product.
Heat Styling
Apply a light hair oil to the ends of your hair while still damp,to coat hair and retain moisture when faced with heat.A dime-sized amount is ample for shoulder-length hair.Mist hair with a heat protectant. Opt for a product that disperses a fine mist and contains style-enhancing properties in order to prevent the need for excess product that will weigh your hair down.Heat protectants that help to straighten, volumize, add texture and curl are all options.Comb through your hair with a wide-tooth comb to evenly disperse all product.Blow-dry hair on low heat, with a nozzle pointed down the hair shaft.Avoid using a brush on your hair until it is 70 percent dry to prevent breakage.Wrap a section of hair over a round natural-bristle brush, and aim the blow dryer at the section until the hair is completely dry as you slowly pull the brush through your hair. Repeat throughout the hair.Natural-bristle brushes are gentler on hair and help to smooth the cuticle while speeding up drying time for less heat exposure. Use a small brush for short hair, and a large brush for longer hair.Mist the ends of your hair with heat protectant again before doing any additional heat styling.
Finishing Touches
Gently run a dime-sized amount of anti-frizz serum or oil over dry hair to smooth flyaways and add shine.Hold a can of anti-humidity hairspray 10 inches away from your head, and apply one even coat to your hair. Hairspray is the ultimate sealant and will protect your style from static, humidity and the elements.Carry a small amount of serum or oil with you throughout the day for touchups as needed. Only reapply product to the ends of your hair, as anything near the root area will weigh down fine hair, making it appear greasy. The ends are the first portion that will become dry and can be treated in a pinch.

Add Color to Your Brazilian Hair

Hair extensions have been in vogue for ages, and many women appreciate how easy it is to change their look using them. You can either purchase synthetic hair extensions or human hair. Synthetic extensions are either made of nylon or polyester fibers, while human hair extensions are made of pure human hair and are usually free from any artificial coloring and styling when purchased. Synthetic hair extensions may cost less, but they are not as versatile as human hair.

As mentioned above, versatility is the biggest benefit that Brazilian hair extensions offers over the synthetic ones. For example, did you know that you cannot color or dye synthetic hair extensions? Brazilian hair extensions, on the other hand can be styled and dyed the same way you would your own natural hair. You also have the freedom to use a variety of styling tools and techniques such as curling irons and flat irons. This added versatility to style Brazilian hair extensions and add virtually any color more than makes up for the higher price and makes it a worthwhile investment!

Hair Color Necessities

Have you recently invested in Brazilian hair extensions and wish to add a little color? Here are the tools you need to have before starting the process:

Brazilian Hair Extensions
Hair developer and hair color
A brush
A color bowl
Plastic wrap
Gloves
A towel
Aluminium foil
A wide tooth comb.

You will also need to carry out the hair coloring space in a well ventilated room with ample counter space or a large table. You will also have to spread sheets of tin foil over your counter-top or table top to keep it from getting stained. Once you’ve purchased the hair dye, developer, applicator bottle, and gloves online or from a local beauty store, you can now start the hair coloring process.

Steps to Color the Hair Extensions

To color your extensions safely and efficiently, simply follow the step-by-step guide outlined below:

1.Your first priority is to disentangle the extensions by combing through them with your wide tooth comb. You have to ensure that any stylish products used in the human hair extensions are completely washed out ahead of time before applying the color. You can dry the extensions after disentangling and washing them by placing them on a towel.

2.The next step in to prepare the hair color mixture. Before proceeding with this step, ensure that your hands are well protected by wearing the rubber gloves. Follow the usage instructions that came with the hair color and developer before pouring them into the applicator bottle. Close the applicator bottle and shake it well until you are sure that everything is thoroughly mixed.

3.Once the hair color mixture is ready, you can now use the dye to coat your Brazilian hair extensions. Comb through the extensions to ensure that the hair color is evenly distributed and coats all the areas you want dyed. Cover the hair extensions with aluminum foil once you finish applying the dye. Let the color set into the hair for the some time as specified on the color box.

4.This step involves rinsing excess hair color from the extensions. To ensure faster and more thorough removal of color, use warm water when rinsing the extensions. After all the dye is gone, shampoo the extensions and apply a conditioner. You can comb through the extension gently after applying the conditioner to straighten the hair.

5.You now have to rinse your colored Brazilian extensions using cold water to get rid of the conditioner. This is not only leave the hair looking shiny, but will also seal the hair coloring.

6.Finally, you should air dry the extension. Air drying preserves moisture and leaves hair looking shinier. If you are in a hurry you can speed up the process by using a diffuser or a blow drier to dry the Brazilian hair extensions.

The hair should be completely dry and dyed out when you complete the process and can be applied to you hair to give you your desired make over. Your hair now has a whole new color that will turn heads and make you look and feel fabulous!

What Factors Can Cause Damage to the Hair?

Did you know that the scale-like structure of the cuticle normally has approximately ten layers of cells – in damaged hair these often degrade, resulting in fewer layers, weakening the hair itself and reducing the layer of protection surrounding the cortex. Damaged cuticles spread out and expand, leaving the cortex exposed, destabilised and requiring treatment.

Hair care products are usually designed to target a specific problem. Because of this they will vary in intensity; a mild dose of dandruff is likely to be treatable at home, whereas serious chemical damage will require expert advice and professional treatment. Damaging influences include:

Mechanical Influences
This includes combing, back-combing, and the use of a hair curler. These methods can rub against the hair cuticles causing them to flake and tear. Wet hair is particularly susceptible as the cuticles are swollen, potentially exposing the inner cortex. Extensive brushing can lead to traction alopecia and can cause breakage in dry and brittle hair.

Environment
Factors include light (UV and visible light), salt and chlorine water. These can all contribute to the breakdown of chemical bonds within hair structure. Heat from sunlight can also dry out hair and make it susceptible to damage.

Heat
Using a curling iron, straighteners, blow dryer or dryer hood. Heat breaks down the temporary bonds, which hold together polypeptide chains within the hair. Hair can then be set into a new style. Over-exposure to heat can irreparably damage the structure of hair and may also damage the scalp, leading to hair loss.

Chemical Influences
Includes coloring, lightening and perming services, which are designed to penetrate the outer protective cuticle, so as to affect the inner cortex directly. Perming chemicals break down disulphate bonds, which hold together the polypeptide chains of keratin. If hair and scalp are over exposed to these chemicals, severe damage can occur.

Humidity
A humid environment opens up pores and cuticles leaving them exposed to damaging influences.
